Magnolia Tree in blossom

The weather in Toronto was pretty good all week, I even sat outside to eat lunch, evidence of summers arrival…or so I thought! Unfortunately on Friday evening in began to rain & it didn’t give up for most of the weekend – great for the trees which are beginning to blossom through-out the city but not so great for me with plans of roof-top gardens & outdoor patios!
But I didn’t let the wet weather hinder my plans too much! I managed to fit in a run down by the lake shore & a spot of shopping on a dry spell. Saturday night myself  & my girlfriend’s got together, we drank copious amounts of wine & ate all around us! It was one of those nights where we chatted into small wee hours of the morning….although I’m feeling the effects today it was well worth it!

Homemade Banana Pancakes

Another Sunday evening & another week has come to an end. This week was pretty jam packed, I’m back on my running buzz…summers impending arrival my motivation! I spent evenings catching up with friends & on Saturday we did some browsing along Queen St W. I almost managed to stick to just browsing, if it weren’t for a few rings I picked up but they are perfect for summer so I couldn’t resist.  I also tried my hand at making some Banana Pancakes, which turned out to be delicious. I’ll post the recipe this week, they are too good not to share…

I hope you all had a fab week-end

10K Run For Kids With Cancer – finished with a time of  55mins 16secs

This week I spent a lot of time with friends indulging in good food & drink, hence the Mimosa’s…but I’m not going to let all that damage & destruction worry me too much. I hope it was all well worked off on Sunday’s early morning 10k run, it’s the first Sunday I can remember waking at 6am hung-over free!

The race was actually lot’s of fun (even if I am walking like John Wayne today!) But most importantly it’s all for a great cause & I believe about 1.2 million was raised  for kids with cancer. I would definitely recommend taking part in one in your town or city.

If you follow me on Twitter (here) you will know I was away for the long weekend. We made a trip to Ottawa to visit my boyfriends cousin & a great weekend was ha! Lot’s of food, drinks & sightseeing. As a self-confessed chocoholic Easter morning was a great treat when I found a few chocolate surprises leading to my lint east bunny egg…Gotta love the Easter Bunny

Here are some photos from Ottawa & our pit stop in Gananoque & the 1000 Islands…Yes you guessed it where 1000 Island salad dressing hails from

A brave construction worker braves the elements & the heights

A busy week this week starting off with a friends house warming party, then some mid-week shopping at the bay-day sales, after work friday drinks & ending with a 30th birthday celebration. All in all a great week, but not at all helped by the construction work which has started outside my building…Grrrrr – it’s certainly not a Happy Ending but I thought the brave worker on the end of crane made a pretty cool photo & I wanted to share…time to invest in some earplugs!

A big Happy Mothers Day to my wonderful Mam x

This week all the days seemed to morph into each other & suddenly it was Friday, I am definitely not complaining though I love it when the working week flies by. The highlight of the week was definitely the Thin Lizzy concert, they were absolutely electric!

This weekend has been very chilled, some beers in my apartment with friends, watching movies & a stroll at Toronto Music Park.

Today is Mothers Day in Ireland – so Happy Mothers Day Mam, enjoy your day xx
